Thirty & Flirty & Thriving
Now for the 30th birthday details!
First, my best friend Kendyl flew in from Zurich to celebrate at not one but two birthday celebrations in two different states. (Did I mention she came from SWITZERLAND? Truly the definition of showing up.) She got in late on Wednesday and we ate Sugarfish in my apartment while she provided commentary on Dancing With The Stars Disney night (her personal Super Bowl).
The next day, I kicked my birthday celebrations off with a dinner at Palma in NYC. Hugo spritzes and red wine flowed, and everyone left with 13 Going on 30–inspired goodie bags – Razzles, fluffy pens, butterfly clips, sleep masks -- all tucked into custom “Thirty & Flirty & Thriving” gift bags I had made (highly recommend For Your Party for all your custom event needs).
The outfit inspo was self-explanatory: What would a modern-day Jenna Rink wear? My answer: an SS21 Balmain dress I found on The RealReal, blue pointy-toe Schutz pumps, and the cake-shaped Kate Spade x Magnolia Bakery purse I've owned for a decade.
We started the next day in my favorite way: coffee from Madman Espresso in the Village. Then, as we were packing up to head to the airport, I realized I’d completely forgotten to pick up my dress for a wedding I'm flying to from Dallas later this week. Thankfully, I was able to grab it just in time for SJ to arrive with these massive balloons that journeyed to New Jersey just for the above photo (worth it). I’m also obsessed with this Area set I wore – the top is a rugby shirt (which you’re about to start seeing everywhere) and I paired it with the aforementioned blue Puma Speedcats.
Finally, we made it to Dallas and did all my favorite things: catching up with friends, eating Tex-Mex, and staying in for movie night. But, most importantly, I was reunited with my five-month-old nephew after two very long months apart.
