Postcard from: Amangiri
I spent last weekend at Amangiri for the wedding of a friend who’s more like family (we met 25 years ago – how insane is that?). To quote, well, myself: I love Amangiri almost as much as I love Laurel and Akash. It was one of those weekends that felt almost unreal – the most beautiful, peaceful place, surrounded by 28 of the bride and groom's closest friends and family. Truly a dream wedding in every sense.
The first night was a welcome party by the Camp Sarika pool. The dress code: sequins and metallics to match the starry night sky. I wore the sparkliest Self-Portrait dress with one of my favorite bags (the Rabanne Nano Pochette). There was even an astronomer there with a giant telescope, showing us constellations and planets as we roasted s’mores under the stars.
For the rehearsal dinner, we hiked up a rock (not the last time we’d do this) to Raven's Nest. The dress code was neutrals and whites – I wore an Al Fuori top, Cinq à Sept skort, and Tony Bianco boots with my little Louis Vuitton trunk purse and my mom’s Burberry cape. Alex wore the Totême coat I gave her for our birthday, and Laurel offset the minimalist palette of the guest attire and location with a red tablescape. (If you take nothing else away from my content this past weekend: Laurel kills a tablescape.)
The ceremony (officiated by my dad!) was held in an outdoor amphitheater with a glass of champagne waiting at each seat so every guest could raise a toast to the newlyweds. Cocktail hour followed on (another) giant rock. A personal takeaway: if you run around barefoot on rocks all night, your feet will hurt the next day. Badly. I wore this incredible Cult Gaia dress in light blue and Alex wore a neutral and green Staud one – the color scheme was “desert sunset,” so we decided we were the sky and the desert itself.
And last, but absolutely not least, the main fashion event: the wedding dress. Designed by Gaurav Gupta, with matching detailing on the groom’s suit, it was easily the coolest wedding gown I have ever seen.
